Ziggy is a handsome and cheeky 7-year-old ruby Cavalier who came into rescue in extremely sad circumstances. He was so loved in his previous home. A reduced adoption fee applies.
He is a lovebug who wants to be with you as much as possible. He loves meeting new people and getting a fuss from them. Ziggy adores other dogs, and ideally, we would like a home for him where he can be with at least one other dog.
Ziggy enjoys his walks and is a really good boy, he loves sniffing and exploring. His recall is excellent when you carry treats, and he loves running off-lead. He also enjoys swimming at the beach.
He does suffer from some situational anxiety; for example, he hates fireworks and the first couple of minutes in the car is stressful for him. He has mild separation anxiety, but very quickly, once you leave, he does settle down. He would love to sleep in his adopter’s bedroom in his dream world, but he has settled fine in foster with his doggy pals at night in the kitchen.
He has had a major dental in rescue and an echocardiogram. He does not need heart medication yet, although this will need to be monitored. He is on inexpensive medication for chiari malformation, which also helps with his anxiety.
Ziggy is great with other dogs and can be rehomed with children 10+. He cannot be rehomed with cats.
Ziggy is in foster in Elsecar near Barnsley. His adopter(s) must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract/or a letter from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.
Please only apply when you have discussed this with all family members, are committed to offering the dog a home, and have fully considered their needs.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within five days of a successful home check. Can we please remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time.
