Weenie is an extremely nervous little ruby Cavalier girl aged 2 looking for a very special, experienced forever home.
Weenie is also called Queenie, Teeny, or any name that sounds high-pitched and happy. We often use silly names for nervous dogs. This way, you always express things positively. She came into rescue from a breeder and is extremely scared of people. But she adores other dogs and needs a home with a couple of other Cavaliers who are confident and playful.
She loves to play with her pals, has started wrestling, and has become really playful. She adores tearing around with them and exploring, and it has been a lovely journey for us to see her on. Humans are not her thing currently, although she is gradually coming a bit closer, and we hope that in time, she will improve. She does not like walks yet. Most of the time, she refuses to walk. This could take a long time. She won’t do well in busy, noisy areas. Her adopter is going to have to be extremely patient and not expect too much from her.
She sits on the sofa with her doggy pals, at a safe distance from the humans but is slowly edging closer as time goes on. She eats really well. She travels well clipped into harness on back seat.
Weenie has a low-grade heart murmur, which will need to be monitored. Unfortunately, she has chiari malformation with pain, so she is on medication for this, which must be continued. She also has dry eye, so she is on treatment- this will need to be continued for the rest of her life. She has been spayed, had a dental and is now up to date with vaccinations and parasite preventatives.
Her adoption fee is reduced due to her health conditions.
We are looking for a home with other resident dogs that are playful and confident. She cannot be rehomed with children under 14 years due to her severe anxiety around people. She can be rehomed with cats.
Weenie is in foster in North Lincolnshire. Her adopter(s) must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract/or a letter from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.
Please only apply when you have discussed this with all family members, are committed to offering the dog a home, and have fully considered their needs.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within five days of a successful home check. Can we please remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time. You are more than welcome to email us with any [email protected]
