Squidge Blenheim Cavalier

Meet Squidge โ€“ The Toy-Loving Snugglebug! ๐Ÿถ๐ŸŽพ

Squidge is a 3-year-old Blenheim Cavalier boy who came into rescue under sad circumstances โ€“ but he hasnโ€™t let that dampen his sparkle! Heโ€™s a playful, fun-loving little lad who adores toys (especially his beloved ball) and can often be found trotting around the garden with one in his mouth.

Once Squidge trusts you, he absolutely thrives on attention and tummy rubs. On walks, heโ€™s friendly with other dogs and loves saying hello, although he can feel a bit intimidated by big, boisterous males โ€“ especially if they havenโ€™t been neutered.

At home, heโ€™s been getting along well with his foster fur brothers and sister. However, Squidge does have some guarding behaviours, mostly related to guarding himself. This stems from having lived undiagnosed with Chiari malformation and syringomyelia (CM/SM) for a long time. Because of this, rough play isn’t his thing โ€“ he prefers to enjoy his toys solo or play fetch with his favourite human.

He can also be a bit defensive if another dog tries to jump up on the sofa or fidgets near him, so it may be best for Squidge to be the only dog in the home. That said, if youโ€™re experienced with guarding behaviours and know how to give him the space and support he needs, he could potentially live with calm, respectful dogs.

Squidge lives for garden playtime โ€“ he loves taking his toys outside for a good zoom around!

๐Ÿฉบ While in foster, Squidge has:

  • Been neutered

  • Started on affordable pain meds for his CM/SM

  • Had all his vaccinations and parasite prevention brought up to date

He also has a grade 2 luxating patella (kneecap) which isnโ€™t currently causing issues but might need attention in the future. Heโ€™s heart clear and has no other health problems aside from those mentioned.

What Squidge Needs:

  • A home with someone around most of the time

  • No children

  • A confident, understanding owner who can keep working on his progress

  • A commitment to playtime, cuddles, and helping him feel safe

  • Ideally a home where he’s the only dog โ€“ unless youโ€™re very experienced with guarding behaviours

At night, Squidge sleeps happily on his foster mumโ€™s bed. He enjoys his walks, loves his toys, and just needs the right home where he can feel safe, loved, and understood.

Could you be the one to give Squidge his happy ever after?
