Poppy age 4 Tricolour Cavalier

Poppy is a loving 4-year-old Tricolour Cavalier girl who hasn’t had the best start in life. She is looking for her forever home.

She is a gorgeous girl who loves nothing more than relaxing with her human companion. Poppy does have mild separation anxiety, so she will need someone who is at home with her most of the time. However, she has been left with the resident dogs for short periods and has been absolutely fine.

Poppy walks well on her lead and is currently enjoying one walk a day. She travels very well in the car, settling calmly and sleeping on the back seat when secured with a seat belt and harness.

She hasn’t been bothered by the resident cat, but a careful introduction would be needed if her new owner has a feline friend. Poppy is more human-focused and could thrive as an only dog. However, it would be wonderful for her to have a quiet, calm resident dog in her new home for companionship.

Poppy is currently overweight, so her new owners will need to continue her diet to help improve her quality of life.

She has a grade 1 heart murmur, which will require regular veterinary checks. She also has a grade 2 luxating patella that she copes well with, and the weight loss will benefit. Poppy has also been treated for an ear infection and has undergone major dental work. She is vaccinated and is up to date with parasite preventatives.

Poppy has so much love to give and will make a loyal and affectionate companion for the right home.

Poppy is in foster in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. Her adopter(s) must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract/or a letter from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.
Please only apply when you have discussed this with all family members, are committed to offering the dog a home, and have fully considered their needs.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within five days of a successful home check. Can we please remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time.
