Penny is a sweet 6-year-old girl who came into rescue under sad circumstances, but she’s settled beautifully into her foster home. She gets along brilliantly with other dogs and has even lived with cats before.
She’s a gentle soul who adores naps, playing with toys, going for walks, and—most importantly—soaking up all the cuddles and tummy rubs she can get! Penny loves being around her humans and can be left for short periods, but she definitely misses you when you’re out. At night, she sleeps in her bed in the bedroom, though she’s a bit of a loud snorer! Hopefully, this will improve as she continues to lose weight—she’s already made great progress in foster, but her weight loss journey will need to continue for her health.
Penny has a heart murmur, and after an echocardiogram, she’s now on heart medication. She’s also started an inexpensive pain relief for chiari malformation and mild syringomyelia, as she was showing some symptoms, especially on walks, but she’s responding really well and is much happier now! While in foster, she’s also had a dental cleaning, vaccinations, and parasite treatment, so she’s all set to find her perfect forever family.
If you’re looking for a loving, gentle companion who will shower you with affection (and maybe a little snoring), Penny could be the one for you!
