About Nellie
Nellie came into rescue from a pet home, sadly her owner could no longer take care of her.
She is quite a nervous girl when she meets new people and when faced with new situations, she is gaining confidence daily but at the moment we do everything slowly at Nellie’s pace as she is easily spooked. She finds the world a scary place at times so she does need lots of reassurance. She will need a home where someone is around most of the time with the understanding and time to help Nellie to continue to build her confidence up. Any children including visiting children will need to be age 12+Nellie is currently in Foster with other dogs and does enjoy their company. She does have a bit of 'small dog syndrome' though when she meets big dogs, she’s certainly not afraid to tell them what she thinks. Nellie's adopter must be aware of this when out and about. She also does bark and growl at people that she doesn't know, or if she is taken by surprise. She is such a cheeky, playful little lady and just loves to pinch things like your slippers and socks. She loves to play ball in the garden and with her soft toys. Nellie is very affectionate once she trusts you and just loves tummy tickles and to curl up on your lap for a cuddle. Nellie has had surgery for her left knee, she has a luxating patella and has had some quite extensive surgery due to the knee being very flat. We hope the surgery will allow her to live life to the full but it is possible she could have further knee problems in the future, this is a big consideration as it is a pre-exsisting condition which cannot be insured. Please read our adoption procedure prior to filling in the online form. We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
