About Mr Darcy

Mr Darcy is a sweet natured, gentle, 7 year old tri-coloured male Cavalier who came into rescue from a pet home.

He will make his adopters a wonderful and loving companion with a character and heart as big as his paws. He loves his walks and walks well on the lead enjoying meeting and greeting other humans and dogs.

Initially he was an only dog in foster and settled well, more recently he has had 2 foster buddies who he really enjoys being with. He could therefore be rehomed as an only dog or with another mature dog.

At bedtime he sleeps happily on his bed on the floor as long as he is in full view of the people. He is an early riser but will settle again straight after his breakfast. He does suffer from separation anxiety so needs his forever family to be around most of the time.

He has been on a diet and the winner of 'Loser of the Month' in our Cavalier Fat Club' since his arrival! He needs to lose a little more yet but he's doing great. He is deaf but is learning hand signals.

Mr Darcy has a grade 3 murmur, his heart is not enlarged so doesn't need medication at the moment. He has had cruciate repair surgery while with us and a hip surgery last year. He is recovering very well but will only need relatively short, frequent walks. His other knee may need surgery in the future, it is currently stable, the rescue will cover the cost of this if needed, as long as our vets are used. He also has chiari malformation with pain so is on daily pain relief, approx cost £20 a month.

Mr Darcy is an absolute sweetheart, he needs a loving home without children or cats.
