About Max

Max is a beautiful 6 year old black and tan Cavalier, he came into rescue from a pet home as his owner could no longer care for him.

Max is a very excitable boy and loves attention. He loves nothing more than going off exploring the garden, he needs a lot of stimulation and attention. He is very good at escaping so potential applicants must have a garden like Fort Knox!! He needs at least 2 short walks a day while his stamina improves, currently he is getting so excited he tires very easily.

He gets on very well with other dogs and all people that he meets, he is a confident boy. While in foster he has met some older children and really enjoyed spending time with them, he can be rehomed with children over 10 years that are sensible and used to being around dogs. He is not cat tested.

Max has a grade 4 heart murmur and is on medication following his echo as his heart is enlarged. Max is symptomatic of having Chiari Malformation/Syringomyelia so is now on pain killers, he will need to remain on those to stay comfortable for the rest of his life and potentially may need further medication adding if his pain is not controlled.

Max will need to be adopted by someone with knowledge of Chiari/Syringomyelia as the symptoms are subtle but he will be in pain if not well controlled with appropriate medication.

Please read our adoption procedure prior to filling in the online form. We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
