Lottie 5 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Lottie is a 5-year-old Blenheim Cavalier that came into rescue from a breeder. We are looking for a very special forever home for her, she needs a patient and kind adopter to help her learn that the world is not as scary as she thinks.

She is a larger Cavalier and is still very wary of the outside world. She needs a very patient owner who will let her do things at her own pace. She has been fearful of her harness, and learning to walk on her lead is still very scary, so her adopter will need to continue the work her foster parents have started. It will come in time, but patience is very important.

Lottie is now mostly clean in the house, she is taken outside frequently and is starting to get the hang of things. She is very timid but has started to let us stroke her and will now take treats out of your hand. She responds well to her name, especially when treats are involved. She is food motivated which is extremely helpful for rewarding her.

Thankfully she is heart clear and has no known health conditions. She can be vocal at feeding times but is otherwise very good. She is currently having 3 meals a day which she thoroughly enjoys, as she could do with putting some more weight on.

She is up to date with her vaccinations and flea and worming treatment.

She will need to be rehomed with at least one other dog, who is kind and confident and will help her overcome her fears. Her adopter will need to be at home most of the time. She cannot be rehomed with children under 10 years due to her anxiety. She is not cat-tested.

Lottie is in foster in Elsecar near Barnsley, South Yorkshire. Her adopters must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover any future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within 5 days of a successful home check. Please can we remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time, you are more than welcome to email us with any [email protected]
