Hunter ruby Cavalier laying on grass
3 year old Hunter is an adorable little boy looking for his very special forever home where he can feel safe and be happy.
He needs a calm environment. Ideally we are looking for an adopter who has some understanding of anxious dogs and will give him the time he needs to build his confidence in his new surroundings. In return he will love you unconditionally.

He could live as an only dog and quickly forms a human attachment. His humans would need to be around most of the time.  He could also enjoy the company of an older calm dog who could help him when he has to be left and in the garden he enjoys following other dogs.

He is at his happiest when running free in quiet areas such as woodlands, fields and open spaces. He enjoys just running sniffing and exploring.  On the lead he suffers a little with anxiety and is more wary of people and dogs so ideally a home in a more rural area would suit him better.  However his lead walking is really improving as his confidence grows.

He is very sweet and loving, he loves his humans and sleeps really well through the night on your bed.  He makes an excellent companion.

He travels well in the car with a harness and seatbelt attached but gets very excited as the car reaches the destination and barks.

Hunter has Chiari Malformation with pain but has responded well to medication. Other than his chiari he is in good health and heart clear. He is microchipped and up to date with parasite treatments, worming and his vaccinations.

He cannot live with cats or other small furries. Older children who can understand his need for space would be ok.

Hunter is in foster in Beverley, East Yorkshire. His adopter(s) must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract/or a letter from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.

Please only apply when you have discussed this with all family members, are committed to offering the dog a home, and have fully considered their needs.

The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within five days of a successful home check. Can we please remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time. You are more than welcome to email us with any [email protected]
