Hugo ruby Cavalier age 3
Hugo is a handsome 3-year-old ruby Cavalier that came to rescue in very sad circumstances. He is looking for a child-free forever home.
Hugo is very cuddly and human-orientated and loves everybody. He very much enjoys sitting on your lap. He does suffer from anxiety in new situations and is cautious of unfamiliar objects like the clothes horse, and fly screen on the door, for example.
He interacts well with other dogs, and we feel he would benefit from living with at least one confident dog. Infrequently he guards toys which is becoming less often as his confidence is improving and he feels less anxious.
He is a good eater and sleeps well on his bed in his foster’s bedroom. He has plenty of energy and very much enjoys his walks. He can do some tricks, such as sit, lay, paw, and roll over, and his recall is good. He would really benefit from an active home with plenty of play and stimulation.
Hugo has started inexpensive pain relief for chiari malformation pain since his arrival- approx £6-10 a month. This, no doubt, is also helping his anxiety; he is much less anxious and more settled. He is otherwise healthy with no known other health problems.
Unfortunately, Hugo was aggressive with a very young child and nipped them. For this reason, we are looking for a home without children or visiting children under 16 years. He is not cat tested.
Hugo is in foster in North East Lincolnshire. His adopters must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover any future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within 5 days of a successful home check. Please can we remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time, you are more than welcome to email us with any [email protected]
