Fonzie- Adopted

Fonzie (The Fonz) is a 4 year old black and tan Cavalier boy that came into rescue from a pet home due to a chance in circumstance.

Fonzie will need a home where someone is around the biggest majority of the time. He likes to know you are close by, he can get a bit anxious when he knows you are leaving him. He really enjoys belly rubs and a cuddle with you on the sofa, he has lots of love and kisses to offer.

Fonzie can be a very vocal boy and loves a good bark at the TV, mainly if there are animals on there... how dare they touch his TV! He can also be quite vocal when out and about visiting places, he gets really excited and just likes people to know the Fonz has arrived and is ready for a fuss and attention. He’s quite a character and a little bit of a challenge at times. He is usually very good with other dogs and once he knows them he is great, some bouncy dogs do worry him initially and he is learning to greet dogs more politely!

Fonzie has had surgery for a luxating patella and cruciate repair. He has also had 2 congenital defects repaired inside his mouth. He will need to build the strength back up in his leg very slowly, it’s quite important that he only has short walks and gentle exercise for the next few months. We can help guide you with his continued exercise plan. He has been seen by a neurologist due to some slow signal responses, they feel that these do not impact him and no further action required at this time.

He will need to come back in 3-6 months for his second knee surgery as sadly both knees were severely luxating. We can advise further on this as and when his perfect applicant has been found.

Fonzie is house trained, enjoys the company of other dogs but really doesn’t like cats at all. Any resident or visiting children would need to be 5+
