Beautiful 6-year-old, retired breeding girl Copper is looking for her forever home.
Copper is a very nervous girl but is slowly becoming more confident, thanks to the other Cavaliers showing her the ropes. She very much relies on the other dogs and, at the moment, is extremely nervous around people. This should improve in time with some patience.
She is starting to enjoy her walks and especially enjoys being off-lead in a secure paddock so she can go sniffing and barking at small furries and birds! She can still be nervous about new situations, so going out and about is a work in progress. She travels well in the car as long as she has a kind doggy friend sat next to her. She has a whole world she doesn’t know about yet and to become someone’s little princess.
Copper has a low-grade heart murmur which doesn’t need medication at the moment, but her heart will need monitoring. She has chiari malformation with pain and is on inexpensive pain relief for this. Copper has dry eye, so is on veterinary-prescribed eye ointment, which she will need to remain on. She suffers from mild allergies so is on a hydrolysed diet.
She has had a dental with extractions in rescue and has been spayed. She is now up to date with vaccinations and parasite preventatives.
She cannot be rehomed with cats as she will bark and chase them sadly. She can be adopted with dog-savvy children over 10 years. Her adopter will need to be around most of the time. She needs at least one resident dog in her forever home.
Copper is in foster in North Lincolnshire. Her adopters must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover any future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within 5 days of a successful home check. Please can we remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time.
