Buddy is a (likely) Cavalier Chihuahua cross that came into rescue under sad circumstances. He is looking for a fantastic forever home.
A reduced adoption fee applies.
He has just turned 9 years old and is full of life despite being very overweight. He loves his walks and even tries to run around; he likes to play, too but is being held back by his weight at the moment. He is doing really well on his diet and has lost half a kilo in the first week of his diet. He hasn’t missed out on the odd healthy treat, but being on the right portion sizes and food has paid off already. He will have to continue this plan in his new home.
Buddy has a great personality, is obedient and sweet, and loves a tummy rub and a cuddle on the sofa in the evening. He sleeps well at night in his own bed in his foster mum’s bedroom. He is house-trained and gets on well with dogs in his foster home but isn’t cat-tested.
Buddy is heart clear currently but has come in with untreated chiari malformation pain. He has started a relatively cheap medication to manage his pain and is doing really well on it. Buddy has bilateral luxating patellas, but getting him to his goal weight and starting a joint supplement is going to benefit him. Hydrotherapy would be greatly beneficial to his joints and weight loss. His vaccinations and parasite treatments are up to date.
He needs the right home that will continue to give him the health and happiness he deserves. Buddy can be homed with children 13+, with or without other dogs.
Buddy is in foster in Wakefield, Yorkshire. His adopter(s) must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract/or a letter from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.
Please only apply when you have discussed this with all family members, are committed to offering the dog a home, and have fully considered their needs.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within five days of a successful home check. Can we please remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time.
