About Brandy

Brandy is a stunningly beautiful, 3-year-old ruby Cavalier that came into rescue from a loving pet home.

She is a very sweet and gentle soul. Sadly she suffers from severe anxiety when outside of the house, and also separation anxiety when at home. We are looking for a very special home for her with very patient adopters that are at home almost all of the time.

She loves nothing more than a cuddle, she would happily spend her life on your knee or sat on your feet if she could. However, we have been trying to encourage her to 'be a dog' and go off sniffing away from us with the other dogs. We have made some progress with this and she is slowly gaining confidence. Rome wasn't built in a day, Brandy needs long-term support and training. She needs appropriate stimulation and exercise in order to help with her anxiety.

Brandy can be extremely vocal when she initially sees her harness and during her walks. She needs a great deal of reassurance when she is out walking, we have found the confident dogs are giving support to her by simply leading the way and being with her. Ideally, we are looking for a rural home for her where there are fewer noises, strangers, and other things to be worried about. She absolutely needs confident dogs in her new home that can show her the world is not as frightening as she believes it to be.

Sadly Brandy has chiari malformation with pain, frequently anxiety goes hand in hand with the condition. She is on medication that not only covers her pain but also helps with anxiety. Since starting this medication we have seen big improvements and she will need to remain on this. Thankfully she is heart clear and has no other known health problems.

Her adopters must be around almost all of the time, she can be left for short periods with her doggy friends. She can live with dog-savvy children 10+. Brandy needs to live with at least one very confident dog, ideally, more than one.

Brandy is in foster in North Lincolnshire. Her adopter must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover any future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract from their employer. The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must take place within 5 days of a successful home check.
