Beautiful black and tan girl Bella is looking for a wonderful forever home. She is 7 years old and an absolute sweetheart.

Bella is a human-orientated girl; although she does really love other dogs, she is all for her humans! She has come to rescue very overweight, and carrying all this excess weight is a real struggle for her. She is definitely a fussy eater and has been used to eating human food. She is, of course, now eating dog food only, and the weight is coming off. We think she has 5kg to go at least yet.

She absolutely loves her walks, she can’t go very far just yet, but as she continues to become fitter and healthier, she will be able to go further. She enjoys being off-lead in a secure place to mooch around and have lots of sniffs.

We would love a family to adopt her that will be committed to keeping her weight down and giving her some lovely experiences. She really is such a sweet girl and we know there is going to be an amazing life in front of her.

Bella has a grade 2 heart murmur; it will need monitoring. She is on inexpensive pain relief (£10 per month) for chiari malformation pain.

She has a luxating knee that may need surgery once the weight has come right down. The rescue will cover the cost of surgery if she needs it, and it will need to take place at the practice we use or with a pre-approved practice. It may be that she copes very well and doesn’t need surgery, but with all this extra weight, we just don’t know yet. We feel it is better for Bella if she can go to her forever home and start the rest of her life rather than waiting in foster. This will all be discussed much further with the shortlisted applicant.

She would be fine with cats and children if given her own space.

Bella is in foster in North Lincolnshire. Her adopters must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover any future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.

The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within 5 days of a successful home check. Please can we remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time, you are more than welcome to email us with any [email protected]
