Important Information

While we regularly update this site, there may be occasions when a dog listed has already been rehomed.

Bliss Cavalier Rescue carefully assesses the health and temperament of all our dogs before adoption to help match them to the most suitable homes. However, a dog’s behaviour may change once they settle into a new environment. We can only assess their temperament based on what we observe while they are in our care.

We reserve the right to refuse an adoption application at our discretion and without explanation. Bliss Cavalier Rescue cannot accept responsibility for a dog’s temperament or behaviour after rehoming.

To ensure the best match for both adopter and dog, please read the dog’s biography carefully before applying. Only apply if you meet the listed criteria.

Due to the high volume of applications for some dogs, we regret that we cannot respond to every application. If your application is successful, we will contact you for a telephone interview.

Each of our dogs has their own unique personality, behaviours, and needs, so we may not always have the perfect match for you. If we believe a dog could be a good fit, our rehoming team will be in touch to learn more about you and discuss the next steps. In the meantime, we recommend also registering with other local rescue centres alongside Bliss Cavalier Rescue to increase your chances of finding the right companion.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are highly social, human-oriented dogs. They thrive on companionship and can suffer from
separation anxiety if left alone for long periods.

Cavaliers are often called **"velcro dogs"** because they want to be with their humans most of the time. They do **not** cope well with
being left alone for hours on end, which can lead to distress, anxiety, and destructive behaviours.

We expect adopters to have a **realistic plan** to ensure their Cavalier is not left alone for excessive periods.
