About Dixie
Dixie is a beautiful 3 year old Cocker Spaniel that came into rescue from a breeder.
Prior to coming into rescue she spent her life in kennels and she is slowly adjusting to life in a home. She loves human company and plenty of cuddles. She loves to play especially with tennis balls, she would literally retrieve all day long if she could! She has learned a lot from the resident dogs in her foster home and follows their lead, for this reason she will need at least one resident dog in her adoptive home. She is very playful so a younger dog would be best. She needs her humans to be around all day long as she does get stressed if left, she can be left for short periods with no problems. She cannot be rehomed with children or visiting children under 14.She has had a very nasty bladder infection so has been on antibiotics for a few weeks now, many tests have been run including urine cultures, bloods and ultrasounds. Her bladder is now clear and we are working on toilet training, she has been very slow to learn toilet training and it is an ongoing process even now as can be the case with some ex-breeding dogs. She is on a weight loss diet and needs to lose a further 2kg. Dixie is on medication for incontinence, we have finally got to a dose that controls it very well and she is no longer leaking urine. Dixie is an amazing Cocker and will be a faithful, loving companion to her lucky adopter. Please read our adoption procedure prior to filling in the online form. We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
