Elsa is an almost 6-year-old Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel looking for her forever home. A reduced adoption fee applies.
Elsa came into rescue from a breeder and is looking for a special forever home. As with many ex-breeding Cavaliers, she is not confident in new situations and is unsure of new faces. She is the sweetest, most laid back girl that loves nothing more than a comfy and warm spot on the sofa.
She will happily follow you around but isn’t as velcro-like as some Cavaliers can be! She will sit near you but can be nervous until she knows you well. She really is the sweetest girl, and she now just needs some time to settle and start living her best life. She would prefer a quieter home.
Elsa travels really well in the car and is getting used to walking on her harness in quieter places. She has just completed a full vaccine course, so she hasn’t been to any busy places yet, so her forever home will need to be mindful that she may take some time to get used to walking near other people.
She is fantastic with all other dogs, regardless of breed and age. Elsa must be rehomed with at least one other dog, as she needs them for confidence. She has been sleeping on her human’s bed, and this has fast-tracked her into being the diva Cavalier she should be! She would settle with no issues in the kitchen and snuggled up with her pals, though.
Elsa has a moderate heart murmur due to mitral valve disease; she has had an echocardiogram in rescue and started taking heart medication. Her heart is enlarged, and she is currently in stage B2, so she is stable and doesn’t have any symptoms currently. This will need to be monitored at her medication reviews. Elsa also has chiari malformation with pain and is on inexpensive pain relief for this, which must be continued. She also has dry eye which she is going to need to continue lifelong treatment for.
She is spayed, has had a dental and completed a vaccine course. She is up to date with parasite preventatives.
Elsa needs a home without young children and at least one resident dog. She isn’t cat tested but we can do this for applicants if required.
Elsa is in foster in North Lincolnshire. Her adopter(s) must purchase a comprehensive insurance policy or have the means to cover future health issues. Please research costs before submitting an application. Home workers must be able to produce a contract/or a letter from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.
Please only apply when you have discussed this with all family members, are committed to offering the dog a home, and have fully considered their needs.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within five days of a successful home check. Can we please remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time.
