We are looking for a wonderful forever retirement home for Max, age 13 years young. He is a very special boy.
The rescue will cover his vet bills and medication costs for the rest of his life. The adopter will purchase his food and pay for grooming.
Max is a beautiful soul who is super easygoing and easy to care for. He is looking for a love-filled retirement home where he can plod around in a decent-sized garden and go for little walks.
As you would expect of a dog his age, Max has typical Cavalier health conditions, but they are well-managed, and he has an excellent quality of life.
His dream home would be where he is either the only dog or would live with another elderly and calm dog. He likes his own space but loves a fuss and attention from his humans. He loves his grub and gets so excited when you are nearing dinner time!
Max travels extremely well in the car and is a pleasure to take out. He would enjoy pub lunches and a little plod around the beach. Despite his age, he is a chipper chap and would enjoy trips out to get some stimulation, but he cannot walk too far because of his osteoarthritis. We will happily provide a buggy to his adopter so he can get out and about.
He has a moderate heart murmur and is in stage B2; he takes medication for his heart and is stable. He has chiari malformation, mild syringomyelia and osteoarthritis, all of which are well-managed with pain relief and a supplement. Max has dry eye, so he needs lubricant and Optimmune. He has allergies which cause interdigital cysts, and this is also well managed with medication. He takes his medication very easily as he is a greedy chap! The rescue will cover his vet bills and medication costs for the rest of his life.
Children must be over 10 years. He does not get on with cats.
Max is in foster care in North Lincolnshire. The rescue will cover his vet bills and medication costs for the rest of his life. The adopter will purchase food and pay for grooming. Home workers must be able to produce a contract or letter from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.
Please only apply when you have discussed this with all family members, are committed to offering the dog a home, and have fully considered their needs.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within five days of a successful home check. Can we please remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time. You are more than welcome to email us with any [email protected]
