Sweetpea Blenheim Cavalier age 2
Sweetpea is a two-year-old Blenheim Cavalier looking for a wonderful forever home. We want a home where she will get all of her needs met, including plenty of stimulation, as she is a young dog and needs this.
She is a sassy little girl who loves nothing more than to follow her human around like the Pied Piper! She very much enjoys her cuddles. She enjoys going out and about to new places, meeting and greeting for lots of fuss and attention. You can take her anywhere, and she is such a good girl. Although she can’t do loads of walking, we do want a home where she will be taken to new places and have lovely experiences. Things like the seaside and shady woodwalks are right up her street. Especially if she can have a lick of an ice cream!
A couple of walks a day and a nice garden to explore would suit her perfectly. She travels extremely well with her harness attached to a seatbelt and a friendly doggy pal beside her.
Sweetpea came to the rescue with suspected lymphoma; this was not the case at all. She had malocclusion, so she needed to have some dentistry work as her mouth was very painful. She was spayed, vaccinated and is up to date with parasite preventatives. She has dry eye, so she is on Optimmune for the rest of her life. She also unfortunately has painful chiari malformation, which is well managed with medication which also must be continued for the rest of her life. She can be a bit of a fussy and picky eater, likely due to her malocclusion, which has now been addressed, but perhaps also her neuropathic pain. She needs time and patience and an adopter that can learn to identify when she could be painful.
She loves other dogs, and due to her background of living with a breeder, she needs to be rehomed with at least one other dog, as this is what she is used to. Thankfully, we don’t believe that she was ever used for breeding. She is not used to children at all and the noises that come with their package, so she can be rehomed with children and visiting over 12+ only. She can be rehomed with dog-savvy cats. Her human needs to be around most of the time. We would prefer an experienced home of Cavaliers with chiari pain if possible, or someone willing to learn more.
Sweetpea is in foster in North Lincolnshire. Her adopter(s) must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract/or a letter from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.
Please only apply when you have discussed this with all family members, are committed to offering the dog a home, and have fully considered their needs.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within five days of a successful home check. Can we please remind you not to telephone the rescue regarding adoptions at any time.
