Benji has just turned 9 years old. He came into rescue from a pet home in very sad circumstances and is looking for a special forever home. A reduced adoption fee applies, and the rescue will cover his current medication costs.
He is a low-energy boy who needs to lose a little more weight to help with this and his heart condition. He is doing well on his heart medication and has started on inexpensive pain relief for his lumbosacral pain and chiari/syringomyelia symptoms.
Benji is a very independent boy looking for a quiet home; he likes attention but is not a cuddle monster; this may change once he feels settled and safe.
His foster parents have been introducing him to other dogs, and he has been really enjoying spending time with them in the foster home and out and about. He likes quieter dogs, so he can be adopted with or without other dogs, but he would prefer them not to be young and boisterous.
Benji enjoys his walks and walks well on a lead. He is currently taking three short walks a day. He travels well for short distances in a crate or attached to a harness and seat belt. He sleeps quite happily in the kitchen at night and can be left for short periods without any issues. Benji enjoys his food and eats well despite having only 7 remaining teeth.
He is up to date with his vaccinations and parasite treatments.
Benji is not cat-tested but has seen and ignored cats on his walks.
If you have a dog-free home and are at home most of the time, could you give this special boy a loving and quiet home in his senior years?
