Gorgeous Ebony is a 5-year-old black and tan Cavalier that came into rescue from a breeding establishment.

Ebony is a very nervous girl who will need time to settle and get used to her forever home. She has just started to take treats from us which is amazing. It has taken quite some time for her to start to trust us. It is very much baby steps needed. She is such a gentle soul and will benefit from an adopter that will go at her pace but persist and show her there is so much fun to be had!

We have been telling her that doggy’s get to go on lovely holidays and walkies to amazing places like the beach. She has so much to look forward to and she doesn’t even know it yet.

She does travel well with a harness and plug-in seat belt. Currently, she needs more time to learn to walk on her harness and will need to be walked in quiet places to start with. She is very nervous of strangers approaching her when out or when visitors come, but as long as she has her own space to hide away she’s ok. She has a fun and cheeky side when she plays with her Cavalier friends but she is still very nervous with people.

Ebony has mitral valve disease and a medium-grade murmur but does not need medication yet. She has had an echocardiogram and will need one again in 12 months’ time. She has mild chiari malformation pain and is on inexpensive pain relief for this.

She can live with children 12+ and must have at least one resident dog.

Ebony is in foster in North Lincolnshire. Her adopters must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover any future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.

The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within 5 days of a successful home check.
