Mona is a 4-year-old beautiful ex-breeding Cavalier girl looking for a wonderful forever home.
She has come on well in her foster home and now loves walks. Her tail is wagging all the time as she trots along! She now responds to her name and comes in from the garden when you call her. If she thinks there’s a chance of a treat, she dances on her hind legs.
Mona can sometimes be a little monkey, running off with socks and pinching paper out of the bin! She has started to play with toys and interact with the other dogs. She likes a doggie bum as a pillow when napping during the day!
She loves tickles under her ears and tummy, her favourite place to be tickled. She is becoming confident but needs someone around most of the time. She also needs a doggy companion to teach her how to enjoy living in a home. She is doing well with house training and learning from the other dogs. She currently sleeps in a covered crate at night. Once she has had her bedtime biscuits, she happily goes to bed. She has been used to being in the crate for short periods when her foster family are out shopping.
After many visits to the vets, she has her syringomyelia pain well under control. No one could touch her when she first arrived in foster care, she was very painful and had significant symptoms, but with the help of the vets, she is starting to have the life she deserves. This medication isn’t expensive and will need to be continued for the rest of her life.
Mona needed an extensive dental, and she has been vaccinated while in rescue. Mona has a grade 2 heart murmur but is in no need of medication as yet, but she will need it to be monitored regularly and have an echocardiogram in future. She is now happy and pain-free, and her cheeky side is starting to emerge.
She really is going to make a lovely addition to the right family. She needs at least one confident dog in her forever home.
She can be rehomed with older children. She is not cat tested.
Mona is in foster in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Her adopters must be prepared to purchase a lifetime insurance policy or have the means to cover any future health issues. Home workers must be able to produce a contract from their employer. Tenants must send a letter from their landlord stating they have permission to have the dog at their property.
The successful applicants must be able to travel to the foster home for the meet and greet and be immediately available for a home check. The meet and greet must occur within 5 days of a successful home check.
