Connie- Adopted

Connie is the sweetest gentle girl, she is almost 7 years old and arrived into our care having previously spent her life in a breeding establishment. Reduced adoption fee applies.

When she first arrived in our care she couldn’t bear for us to look at her or to touch her, she was very painful and scared of human contact. She is still quite a nervous girl but once she gets to know you and you start to gain her trust she starts to relax. Since she started on pain relief we have seen a whole new side to Connie, she’s very inquisitive and she’s becoming very cheeky and mischievous, she is gaining confidence every day.

She likes to spend time in the garden with her foster pals exploring and doing zoomies. She is now becoming more confident out and about on the lead and enjoys a couple of gentle 30 minute strolls a day at the moment in quiet areas. She will be able to build up to some longer walks in busier areas in time. She will need the company of at least one other confident but calm dog in her new home, and is also happy to live with cats.

She is hopeful for a friend that’s likes doing zoomies too. She settles well when left for short periods of time. She still has some way to go in terms of continuing to build up her confidence so she will need a patient understanding home.

Surprisingly, Connie is heart clear which is fantastic news. Like most Cavaliers she has chiari malformation and mild syringomyelia which we now have under control with inexpensive medication. She also has mild dry eye which is well managed with drops. She may benefit from hydrotherapy to build her muscle up in her hips.

She needs to be able to grow at her own pace with lots of gentle encouragement. Due to her nervous nature and previous background Connie will not be able to live with young children so any resident or visiting children will need to be 10+

Connie is in foster in North Lincolnshire. The successful applicants must be able immediately for the home check. Applicant must be able to travel to foster home for the meet and greet.
