About Buddy

Buddy is a gorgeous 22 month old Cavalier boy that came into rescue from a pet home.

He is a typical young Cavalier with lots of energy. He loves to play and particularly likes being in the garden and exploring and sniffing. Buddy enjoys the company of other dogs, he likes to play fight and chase around with them!

Buddy does pull a little on his walks as he is so excited. He will need further training and it will be a condition of adoption that he attends training classes. He needs to be further socialised and to learn to respond to his humans when out on walks. He currently has no recall outside the home and has difficulty to pay attention to anyone, even when he is offered a treat everything is just too interesting. He will need a minimum of 2 interesting walks every day of at least 45 minutes.

He likes cuddles and sometimes to be picked up but only for a few minutes, he lets you know when he has had enough kisses and cuddles! Buddy has shown some marking behaviour when he first came in to foster, this of course could happen again in his new home initially. Buddy is crate trained and is much happier sleeping in his crate at night. His crate is his own space which he loves and he often fidgets in the evening until bed time and wants to go inside. Buddy can be a little bit vocal at mealtimes as he is impatient when it comes to his food, he tells you to hurry up!

He has been neutered while in rescue and is up to date with vaccinations etc. He does not have any known health problems currently.

He can be rehomed either as an only dog (as long as he has doggy friends to meet and play with) or with other dogs. He is not cat tested. He needs a fit, active adopter that is around most of the time, no children or visiting children under 12 years.

Buddy is in foster in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The successful applicants must be able to travel to foster home for the meet and greet.
