About Jasper

Jasper is a handsome 7 year old Cavalier that came into rescue in sad circumstances from a pet home.

Jasper is a gorgeous, sweet and cuddly boy. He loves snuggling up to you on sofa.

He was a very big boy when he came into rescue, 17.15kg to be precise and could hardly walk with this huge amount of weight he was carrying. He has lost nearly 3kg while in rescue and has much more energy and loves to walk!

He can now walk 3 miles a day and keeps up the best he can with his foster friends. We would prefer an active home for him where he can gain more stamina. He would love a home where he has plenty of new and different walks to stimulate him, beach and countryside outings and holidays.

Sadly he cannot walk upstairs as yet but once the weight is off and muscle toned we are sure he will. Progress has already been made, he is now jumping onto a foot stool to get onto the sofa, he couldn’t do this when he came.

Jasper must continue his diet in his new home and remain a member of our Cavalier Fat Club until he gets to his goal weight. His obesity has really impacted his health so we want to ensure he is never overweight again so he can live the longest possible life pain free.

He has had an extensive dental while in rescue and lost most of his teeth. He has been neutered and is now up to date with vaccinations. Jasper is heart clear. Sadly he suffers from dry eye which is treated with Optimmune and Oxicare lubricant, he will need to remain on these for the rest of his life. He is prone to cysts on his paws and has lots of scarring from them, they are under control now with antibiotics but it is extremely likely he will get more in future.

Jasper is deaf. He has a mild case of hip dysplasia which once he gets to his goal weight (minimum 12kg) he will feel so much better. He is on anti-inflammatory medication. He would benefit from some hydrotherapy to help build his muscles up as he has very little in his rear end.

He is a very happy placid boy and would benefit from a home with a resident dog of similar nature. He is just a teddy bear and will give so much love to his new owner. Resident and visiting children must be 10+, he is not cat tested.

Jasper is in foster in North Lincolnshire. The successful applicant must live within 90 minutes of the foster home.
