About Jess
Jess is a sable, colonial spaniel (American x Cocker Spaniel) who came into rescue from a breeder, she is approximately 5 years old.
Jess is generally a confident girl who is enjoying life, she loves exploring the garden and going on walks. When out on a walk Jess loves to sniff her pee mails, she does not pull on a lead and is getting much better at walking to one side, generally the right. Traffic and other noises, when out, do not bother her, she can sometimes be a bit cautious around people. Lead training is work in progress, as is getting her to sit.Jess responds to her name and quickly comes in from the garden when called. She is a cuddle monster and quite in your face when trying to put her harness on etc, loving the sofa and cuddles in the evenings or when foster mum sits down. She is fed on Burns and Lily’s Kitchen, inspite of her major dental this does not need to be soaked. Jess is starting to play with toys and her doggy friends.Jess has been spayed and had a major dental. She has a mature cataract in her right eye. There is no problem with her left eye and therefore this does not impair her ability to see and get around. She came in with ear infections, a swab has been taken and it came back clear of infection or bacteria. Her adopter will need to keep on top of keeping her ears clean as they do produce too much yeast. She is not cat tested, she will look at them if she sees any whilst out on walks but does not try to chase them. Since we do not know her history regarding children she will not be rehomed with children under 14 and will also need a calm, resident dog to show her the ropes in her new home but one who is willing to play with her as she is just starting to do this. She will make a great addition to the right household. She is a gorgeous girl, with a zest for life, who has so much to give.Jess is in foster in Horncastle, Lincolnshire.
